Information for Referees

BCAF Temporary Location The Bucks County Academy of Fencing Lambertville location is currently CLOSED due to extensive damage from flooding caused by Hurricane Irene. However, they have relocated to a temporary home one mile over the bridge in New Hope, PA. Click here for directions and contact info. BCAF is currently part of the Philadelphia Division.
2011-2012 Division Handbook The 2011-2012 Handbook of the New Jersey Division is crammed full of information you need to know about fencing in New Jersey, as well as at national competitions. Please, find a link to it on the this website's Reports Page. If there is any disagreement between this booklet and the USFA's Athlete's Handbook or Tournament Manuals, they take precedence, and can be downloaded from the US Fencing website. Assembling all the information in one spot was the work of Executive Committee Member Cheryl Delaney.
Visor Masks Banned in Foil and Epee Visor masks will no longer be allowed at USFA competitions for Epee and Foil, effective immediately.
This is a safety decision precipitated by a release from the FIE following lab results from the FIE Visor foil mask which was pierced at the 2009 European Junior Championships in Odense (November 2009).
For further details see the USFA page on this topic.
Director of Public Relations The Division has added a volunteer to help the Clubs and the Division publicize fencing in the state. Adrienne Xagoraris is a professional in the field. She stands ready to help the clubs have a more vigorous presence on the web and help all the clubs publicize their results and events in the media.
Webmaster The Division’s new webmaster is Mike McIntosh effective immediately. He works in the technology industry and is the father of a college fencer who competed in high school and the USFA in New Jersey. We wish Jeff Savit well and thank him for his years for service, some even after leaving the Division. Our back-up webmaster is Bill Nunley. All postings of FRED links, tournament results and important messages should now be sent to Messrs. McIntosh and Nunley.
