George Bowden - Candidate for Division Secretary.

Fencing background - many years attending Division and National fencing events to observe and assist family members. I have worked on the bout committee and assisted with setup/takedown at most of the NJ Division events over the past two years. I also assist with the operation of competitions at the Clinton Fencing Club which is owned and operated by my spouse.

Professional background - I am employed as a Senior Project Manager for a large information technology company. I have extensive education and experience in the Program/Project Management field.

Related background - I have served as the Executive Director of Community Athletics of North Hunterdon since the year 2000. This is a nonprofit organization that provides baseball, soccer and basketball programs for 1500 children per year in Hunterdon County. This has been a very gratifying experience that has helped me understand what is needed for the development of young athletes.

I believe my skills and experience will help improve the operation of the NJ Division and make it a better place for the fencers. Substantial and significant progress has been made over the past two years in the quality of the fencing experience provided to the fencers in the NJ Division. I would like to continue that progress and look to bring some new ideas to the table.
