To be hired by clubs in local USFA tournaments and by the NJ Division for qualifiers, we strongly recommend that prospective referees update their records in the Fencing Officials Commission database with current e-mail addresses. Tournament managers will then be able to contact you thru FRED. Hiring will be for the highest-rated refs first and fill-in as registrations are received. Priority will be given for referees with a rating in more than one weapon.

Instructions to input your e-mail in FOC.AskFRED

Click on the FOC link to get a list of all New Jersey Division referees. If you're in another division, choose your division from the drop down list. Input your "last name" in the box marked as such. Click search. The resulting page will have an exclamation point box to the left of your record. Click on that icon. Input your e-mail address, write a quick comment, which is required, that includes a phrase similar to "Please update my e-mail address."

Instructions to allow tournament managers to contact you thru FRED

When your e-mail address is input manually into the system, you will receive an e-mail confirming the change. Then on foc.askfred.net, find the link down the left-hand side entitled "Privacy Preferences." Input the same e-mail address that you previously have input into FRED, check-off the box "Allow AskFRED.net Bout Committee users to contact me," and click the "Set Preference" button. Click the link the automatic, confirming e-mail that will be sent to that e-mail address to complete the process
